KFC is bringing its Kentucky Town experience to East Africa for the first time, launching Kentucky Town 254 in Kenya on 20 October 2026 with a Kenyan-inspired menu, an exclusive fashion collection and a series of interactive pop-up events across Nairobi.
Running until 15 November, the initiative aims to celebrate Kenyan food, creativity and cultural identity while giving consumers a new way to experience the fast-food brand beyond its restaurants.

The limited-time menu, available at selected KFC outlets, features seven locally inspired offerings: The Colonel’s Mandazi Burger, The Colonel’s Mandazi Pops, The Kentucky Choma Burger, Samosa Crunch, Catch These Masala Fries, Birthday Cake Krusher and One in a Melon Krusher. The selection reimagines familiar Kenyan flavours through KFC’s menu format.
Dorothy Muthoni, Chief Marketing Officer at Kuku Foods East Africa, the franchisee operating KFC in Kenya, said the intention was to create an experience shaped by local culture rather than simply adapt the campaign’s name.
The programme will also feature four weekend pop-ups at major Nairobi shopping centres, combining music, games, food and interactive activities. The events are scheduled for The Junction Mall from 23–25 October, Galleria Shopping Mall from 30 October to 1 November, The Hub Karen from 6–8 November, and Garden City Mall from 13–15 November.
Customers who purchase a Kentucky Town meal at a participating KFC restaurant can use their receipts to gain access to the pop-up experiences. Activities will include a dance challenge, virtual reality gaming, a basketball hoop challenge, a photo booth and caricature drawings. The first 100 visitors to the opening pop-up on 23 October will receive a complimentary Samosa Crunch.
Fashion is another central element of the campaign. KFC has partnered with home_254, a Nairobi-based fashion and design house, to create an exclusive limited-edition collection featuring crop tops, T-shirts, varsity jackets, sweatshirts, sweatpants, jorts, shrugs and puffer jackets.
Job Brian Jura, founder of home_254, said the collection was designed and made in Kenya, with pieces hand-printed locally. The collaboration aims to showcase Kenyan creativity through wearable designs that connect fashion with cultural identity and national pride.
Kenyan creators and influencers, including Kendi Q, comedian Mwirigi and Wangari Kairu, will support the campaign through social media content and appearances at pop-up events, helping bring its food, fashion and entertainment elements to wider audiences.
Kenya is KFC’s second-largest African market after South Africa, with 48 restaurants across the country. Kentucky Town originated in South Africa and has previously been held in Namibia and Mauritius. Its launch in Kenya marks the platform’s first expansion into East Africa.
Hloni Mohope, Chief Marketing Officer at KFC Africa, said the concept was designed to introduce the brand to audiences through entertainment, exclusive experiences, merchandise and new interpretations of its Original Recipe offering.Through Kentucky Town 254, KFC is combining fast food with fashion, music and locally rooted experiences in a campaign that places Kenyan culture at the centre of its brand engagement strategy.
