Malabo is the most impacted area of the only Spanish speaking country in Africa, registering a total of 83 cases on Tuesday.

In early April, the country’s infection stood at 21 according to records by the Ministry of Health.

The latest statement issued on Tuesday revealed that the number of infections had risen from 79 infections to 83. This consisted of two Equatorial Guinean men of 86, 42 respectively, a 46 years old Israeli man and a Peruvian woman, age 36.

According to the statement, the 4 new confirmed cases, one of them presents slight respiratory discomfort, and the others are asymptomatic. All 4, are currently in the capital, finalizing the process of transferring them to the Malabo Patient Management and Monitoring Unit.

The Minister of Health continues replying to the pandemic COVID-19 with call for Unity, asking the country´s citizens to stay home, remain confident and actively collaborate with the general preventive measures indicated by WHO and the Equatorial Guinea´s authorities.
