The Minister of Agriculture, Forests and the Environment, the Minister of the Interior and Local Corporations met with the presidents of smaller communities in Bata and Mbini respectively.

With the aim of solving the issue of illegal logging and sale of Equatorial Guinea timber,  commission was created,  in which Don Faustino Ndong Esono, Minister of the Interior and Local Corporations, and Doña Francisca Eneme Efua, Minister of Agriculture, Forests and Environment  met with members of the smaller local communities (parishes, villages, neighborhoods, etc.) of the Bata and Mbini district respectively, in order to inform them about the measures taken by the Government against the exploitation of the forests and illegal logging of Equatorial Guinea.

The Minister of the Interior and Local Corporations, has stated that the felling of trees for the benefit of any citizen must be carried out under the protection of the laws issued by the Government of the country.

The Minister of Agriculture, Forests and the Environment, Francisca Eneme Efua, stated that for those who fail to comply with these regulations, they will have penalties ranging from one (1) million Fcfa to 10 million Fcfa; “There will also be penalties of years in prison,” the Minister assured.
