Russian Security Council Vice President Dmitri Medvedev warned the West that continuing to arm Ukraine will lead to an apocalypse , in an article published Monday in the Izvestia newspaper. “Our enemies do just that (arming Ukraine) without understanding that their goals lead to total fiasco, failure, lose-lose, apocalypse ,” wrote Medvedev, who was Russia’s president from 2008 to 2012.

Then, he added, “the previous life will have to be forgotten for centuries, until the smoking rubble stops emitting radiation .” Medvedev pointed out that the “feverish illusion persists in the West that after finishing off the Soviet Union without a single shot they will be able to bury today’s Russia without any major problems.” According to the former president, this is an “extremely dangerous mistake.”
“If the existence of Russia is really called into question, this will not be resolved on the Ukrainian front, but together with the issue of the further existence of human civilization,” Medvedev stressed, adding: “We do not need a world without Russia . ”

At the same time, the former president assured that Russia will not allow events to take that course. “And we are not alone in this quest. Western countries and their satellites make up only 15 percent of the planet’s population . We are many more and much stronger,” he added.
