All is set for the 2021 edition of the African Energy Week taking place in Cape Town, South-Africa from the 9th – 12th of November, 2021. With notable speakers and energy leaders from different African countries and the world, this year’s edition will also focus on eradicating energy poverty in years to come.
The interactive exhibition and networking event seeks to unite African energy stakeholders’ even further, drive industry growth and development. The theme for this year’s event is ‘At the forefront of Africa’s energy industry’.
There will be panels, debates, conversations and opportunities for participants to utilize the advantages this year’s edition offers across all value chains of Africa’s energy sector.
African Energy Week 2021 will also see a first of its kind award ceremony as the first African Energy Awards will be hosted during the event. The award aims to celebrate the accomplishments, ongoing success, and pioneering work undertaken by Africa’s energy professionals and organisations. There will be eight awards up for grabs on the opening night of the event, 9th of November.

A total of 1, 400 people have registered for the event in Capetown and a further 3, 200 will participate online. Keeping in line with Covid-19 protocols, the African Energy Week event will adhere to government protocols, ensuring that adequate testing and sanitizing facilities are in place while introducing a format that restricts attendee numbers in each venue.
