Equatorial Guinea: Dreams Hub and Fundacion Ana Costa, Spread Christmas Cheer

The Christmas season is upon us once again and organisations, individuals and groups, are doing what they can to put a smile on the faces of others. One of such organisations is Dreams Hub Research and Innovation Center, Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, who on Thursday, 16th of December 2021, visited the Fundacion Ana Costa, a home for the elderly in the society.

In what was a jolly good time spent with the elderly, co-Founder Casilda Roku and the beneficiaries of the Fundacion Ana Costa initiative warmly welcomed the Dreams Hub team, led by Founder and Director, Oscar A. Nchaso Bekari. The event was engaging and featured games, which were thoroughly enjoyed by all, laughter filled and valuable words shared with the visitors and youths across the country and world by the elderly.

Once the games were over, the gift items brought by the Dreams Hub team were presented to the beneficiaries and the joy in the room was well felt.

The elderly then took out time to speak with the team and give some advice, wish them well and thanked them for making the Christmas season merrier for them with their presence and gestures of goodwill.

Fundacion Ana Costa, located in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, can be described as a soup kitchen and wellness center for the elderly. Every weekday, the foundation picks up elderly people and brings them to the center during the day, providing them with basic amenities and meals. These elderly individuals spend the day engaging in a variety of activities, games and much more. After such a lovely and refreshingly spent day, they are driven back to their homes. This has helped them form new friends, stay active, refreshed and engaged.

At the end of the visit, each of them had words of advice, encouragement and love to share with young people.

‘’Respect the elderly, unity, commit everything you do to God, prioritise humanity, don’t offend people, live in love, obedience and pick up only good habits’’ were some of the advice given by the elderly. They also emphasized on the importance of ‘’friendship, mutual respect, gratitude, faith and forgiveness.’’

The visit concluded with both parties wishing the other a Merry Christmas and a happy new year!
