First Choice Tigresses have received a major boost after centre court player Beatrice Mpinganjira reaffirmed her commitment to the side.
Mpinganjira, who is now based in Lilongwe after she was transferred at her work place, Wellness Fitness Centre [at Reserve Bank of Malawi], said she will not join any team in the Central Region
The national netball team player said she had devised programmes to maintain her fitness and technique of the game.
“I work out a lot to stay fit. I do lots of skill training to avoid losing my shape,” she said.
Mpinganjira has also picked a part time job, where she is training a Lilongwe based developmental netball outfit, Lioness, on skill.
“The time I spend coaching this side helps me to work on my movements,” she said.
Mpinganjira helped Tigresses finish on second position in the Rainbow Paints Blantyre and Districts Netball League last season, behind champions Kukoma Diamonds.
Recently, Blantyre and Districts Netball Committee (BDNC) disclosed that it was considering playing only one of the two rounds of Rainbow Paints Blantyre and Districts Netball League if the coronavirus pandemic goes beyond September.
The league urged players to continue training at home as teams will be given two weeks to prepare for the new season, should the sporting ban be lifted.
