Nigeria’s Quadri Aruna is through to the quarter-final of the ongoing 2021 World Table Tennis Championship, after overcoming Kristian Karlsson.

The 13th seed has seen off Sweden’s Kristian Karlsson in the round of 16 to book a place in the last 8 of the World Championships.

The Rio Olympics quarterfinalist who saw off India’s Sathiyan Gnanasekaran in the previous clinched the last eight tickets with a 4 – 3 victory.

The game ended 11-9, 5-11, 13-11,5-11,6-11, 11-8, 12-6 in favor of Aruna who became the first African to achieve the feat in the history of the tournament in the process.
