Following the successful ‘Earth and Space Dialogue’ event held on 6 September 2022, a dialogue event with Chinese taikonauts, promoted by the Chinese government with the participation of several African countries, broadcast from the headquarters of the African Union in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Millions of people from the African continent gathered from their different countries to enjoy the exceptional experience.

On the Equatorial Guinea side, the historic event was co-organised by the Chinese embassy in Malabo and the technology, entrepreneurship, research and innovation centre Dreams Hub, which hosted the meeting involving more than fifty girls and boys from its Crystal Eggs programme (girls and boys from 7 to 13 years old, who receive free education in ICTs, languages and values management). The event, which turned into a party, was attended by other young adults, managers, educators, dance groups, renowned artists, raffles and prizes.
As a result of this event, Equatorial Guinea has been selected along with 7 other African countries for a special, special edition. Participants from EG and 6 other African countries will have the privilege to talk directly with the Chinese taikonauts! This was announced by the Chinese embassy in Malabo, through its official Twitter account.

Chinese taikonauts will once again talk to African youth!
This year’s special edition event, entitled ‘My Dream to Space – Dialogue with the Taikonauts’, also co-organised by Dreams Hub, also invites young dreamers from Equatorial Guinea to a drawing contest to reflect their aerospace dreams with their paintbrush, a competition organised by the Chinese FOCAC Follow-up Committee and the China Manned Space Engineering Office, the results of which will be announced in September 2023.
10 outstanding works will enter the Tiangong space station on China’s Shenzhou spacecraft this year and will be streamed live on global social media platforms in September this year.
10 first prizes with a bonus of 350 thousand XAF per person, 15 second prizes with a bonus of 220 thousand XAF per person, 25 third prizes with a bonus of 180 thousand XAF per person will be selected from all African participants.
