In a significant step toward improving education in Kenya, ATC Kenya and the ProFuturo Foundation have joined forces to promote digital learning in the country. This project, focused on distributing tablets to schools in Nairobi, Machakos, and Kitui counties, highlights the power of collaboration in transforming Kenya’s educational landscape, empowering local communities through technology.
With a forward-looking approach, this initiative is not just about providing devices, but building a solid infrastructure that enables students and teachers to actively benefit from access to technology. The project’s implementation, which will directly benefit over 11,000 students and 470 teachers in the next three years, serves as a clear example of how local communities are taking an active role in their own educational progress.

The program is being carried out in partnership with two key local partners: Don Bosco Development Outreach Network (DBDON) and the Diocese of Kitui. Through its Digital Communities program, ATC Kenya not only promotes access to technology but also empowers youth by providing them with tools that not only enrich their learning experience but also expand their professional opportunities and prepare them for a prosperous future.
George Odenyo, CEO of ATC Kenya, emphasizes the importance of this project, stating: “This project reflects our vision of a more connected Kenya, where communities not only receive technology but use it to improve their access to educational opportunities, develop new skills, and strengthen digital equity.”
Magdalena Brier, CEO of ProFuturo Foundation, highlights the significance of this partnership, which, according to her, “is a crucial step to improve educational opportunities for those who need it most. But beyond that, we are also empowering the local population to take control of their own future through the use of innovative technological tools.”
This project is designed not only to reduce the educational gap but also to foster a mindset of technological autonomy. The distributed devices are equipped with applications and educational resources that support comprehensive education. Through their use, Kenyan students not only access digital content but also develop critical skills that will enhance their ability to face future global challenges.
In addition to the immediate benefits for students, this project also has a positive impact on the local economy. During its implementation, residents of participating communities have had the opportunity to collaborate in construction and installation tasks, creating a multiplier effect that benefits households and local economies.
In summary, the ATC Kenya and ProFuturo Foundation project not only focuses on providing technology but seeks to make communities active leaders of their own progress, driving a more equitable and prosperous future for generations to come.
