The Finca Sampaka was founded around 1906 as the only cocoa farm on the island of Bioko. With its central colonial structure of green-toned wood and Nordic pine, it is one of the oldest wooden buildings in Malabo. Sampaka,derivated from a Liberian named Samuel Parker, who worked in the area at the beginning.
This farm is famous for producing one the tastiest cocoas the island can boast of and its seeds have been exported to others African countries such as Ghana and Ivory Coast. It is worth mentioning that nowadays, those countries produce more than 30% of global cocoa.
