From February 5-9, Deputy Administrator Paloma Adams-Allen is embarking on an official visit to Ethiopia, Egypt, and Germany, focusing on engaging with development and humanitarian partners and addressing key workforce and operational matters within USAID. The primary emphasis of her trip is to provide support to the staff, promote ongoing Agency initiatives, and oversee programs across Eastern Africa and the Middle East.

In Ethiopia, the Deputy Administrator will interact with female entrepreneurs, young innovators driving digital solutions, and families participating in USAID programs. Additionally, she will engage with partners actively involved in the humanitarian response in the country.

Moving to Egypt, Paloma Adams-Allen will join local staff from the Middle East and Europe at a dedicated convening focused on staff engagement, career advancement, and leveraging local expertise to drive progress beyond existing programs. During her visit, she will also meet with USAID staff who have been displaced from Sudan.
At the USAID Frankfurt Support Center, including the Middle East Regional Platform, the Deputy Administrator will lead meetings addressing the Agency’s activities in the Middle East, crisis response efforts, and advancing USAID’s top priorities for localization and empowering local employees.
