The movie won the prestigious prize from among many contestants in the category in an event held whichin Florida, United States of America, USA recently.

A Cameroonian film, Illusion, has  won  the  prize of Best  Africa Film  at  the  Florida  Opening Worlds,  FLOW Film  Festival  and Film  Market –an  international  Film Festival  that  focuses  primarily  on promoting  women  in  the  film industry  in  non-traditional  senior and  leadership  roles,  and  the films  that  employ  them.

“Where  are  my  precious preys, my rare and  precious pearls  of  love…nothing  will  stop me  with such  immense joy. The good newsfell last night, my God!  When God blesses, no one can curse anymore,”Adjonj, the movie director said Tuesday October 5, 2021.

She added: “It  is  with  immense  joy  that  I announce  this  great  award  for  our Film,  Illusion  which  won  the prize  for  Best  African  Film  from the  USA  in  Florida  at  the  Flow International  Film  Festival.So they offered Illusion to  the  Film market  there.  I  give  thanks  to God for  all  his  benefits,  my  5-star Big  Manager  and  me  in  MSA Production.  Thanks to the whole team.  Special  thanks  to  my  5-star Big  Manager  Sylvain  le  Béni,  the piercer  of  the  corridors  and  the quiet  strength  of  the  7th  Art  in Cameroon”

The filmmaker said the feat, is an indication that there is more on the way for them in the future.  “Too  much  good  news coming,  just  stay  glued  so  as  not to  miss  anything  on  my  lifelong loves.  With God we move slowly but surelybecause  God  never fails…”.

According  to  the  festival organisers,  once  a  film  is  officially  accepted  to  the  festival,  the filmmaker  can  no  longer  withdraw  it  from  the  festival  lineup. The  filmmaker  is  also  responsible  for  submitting  the  screening materials  at  least  four  weeks before  the  festival. Filmmakers  must  provide clean  posters  as  well  a  list  of  all women  and  their  corresponding positions.

The event organizers have as mission  to  encourage the  growth  of  opportunities  for women  in  important  and  male dominated  positions  in  the  film industry,  to  fight  gender  bias  and pave  the  way  for  an  aspiring  new generation  of  female  film  makers. This,  they  do,  through  highlighting  both  their  significant  and high  quality  contributions  and  the films  and  film  industry  stakeholders  who  employ  them.

Other categories at the award included;  Best  Short, Best  Feature,  Best  Screenplay, Best  Animated  Feature,  Best Animated  Short  Film,  Best Music  Video,  Best  Made  in Florida,  Best  Documentary,  Best Student  Short,  Best  Director, Best  Actor,  Best  Actress,  Best Cinematography,  Best  Sound, Best  Score,  Best  in  Editing,  Best Florida  Opening  Worlds Screenplay,  Best  Visual  Effects, Audience Choice Award, Honorable  Mention,  Plus  More!
