Nigeria records 84 new COVID-19 cases from five states

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control on Wednesday reported 84 new COVID-19 cases from five states and the Federal Capital Territory.

The agency did not report any additional COVID-19 related death. The NCDC disclosed this on its official website on Thursday.

According to data from the agency, the FCT recorded 62 cases, followed by Yobe – 15, Bayelsa – 3, Abia – 2, Kaduna – 1, and Kano – 1.

The 84 new infections reported have brought the total number of confirmed cases to 254,861 while 249,307 people have recovered and have been discharged.

With no COVID-19 related deaths recorded for the day, the death toll from the virus still stands at 3,142.

The agency added that a multi-sectoral National Emergency Operations Centre, activated at Level 2, had continued to coordinate the national response activities.
