In its commitment to consolidating the private sector and attracting strategic investments, the Official Chamber of Commerce, Agriculture, and Forestry of Bioko, led by its president, Benjamin Mitogo Bielo, has held a series of key meetings with diplomatic representatives and business ecosystem stakeholders.

Mitogo Bielo dedicated Tuesday, March 11, 2025, to strengthening ties with institutions that can contribute to economic development and the diversification of the country’s productive sectors.

Revitalizing Cooperation with China

The first meeting took place at the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Malabo, where Mitogo Bielo met with the embassy’s counselor Su Jianguo. During the meeting, both parties agreed to relaunch relations between the Bioko Chamber of Commerce and its Chinese counterparts, opening new opportunities for cooperation.

Additionally, as part of China’s commitment to strengthening capacities in Equatorial Guinea, the embassy announced that, starting this year, it will offer professional internships in China for the Chamber’s personnel. This initiative will allow Equatoguinean professionals to gain experience and knowledge in an international business environment.

Collaboration with Dreams Hub in Training and Entrepreneurship

Following the meeting with the Chinese representative, Mitogo Bielo welcomed Oscar Nchaso, founder and executive director of Dreams Hub, a leadership and entrepreneurship center based in Malabo (AfriLabs member). During their discussion, Nchaso presented his intention to establish a collaboration with the Chamber in key areas such as business training, institutional communication, the creation of a startup incubator, and the attraction of international funding.

Both institutions recognized the need to launch joint initiatives benefiting local entrepreneurs and businesses. As a result, they agreed to work towards signing a memorandum of collaboration to formalize their alliance.

Trade Relations with Namibia

In the last meeting of the day, Mitogo Bielo met with the Namibian Consul in Malabo. The diplomat announced the recent establishment of the Namibia Chamber of Commerce in the Equatoguinean capital, a platform designed to facilitate trade relations between the two countries.

Additionally, the consul revealed that a delegation of Namibian entrepreneurs is set to visit Equatorial Guinea to explore investment opportunities. The timing of this visit will depend on the responses and proposals put forward by the Bioko Chamber of Commerce.

Commitment to Economic Growth

These meetings align with the new vision of the Bioko Chamber of Commerce, which, under Benjamin Mitogo Bielo’s leadership, aims to foster and strengthen trade relations, consolidate the private sector, and attract investments that drive the country’s economic growth.

Beyond supporting the private sector’s development, the Chamber reaffirms its role as a facilitator of strategic relationships and new opportunities for Equatoguinean entrepreneurs, promoting greater integration of Equatorial Guinea into international trade, said President Benjamin.
