Deezer’s reports have tracked an explosive rise in fully AI-generated songs on streaming services, growing from 10,000 daily in January to 50,000 by year-end. To maintain quality, Deezer bans fully AI-generated songs from editorial playlists and tags them clearly, setting industry precedents.

Other AI songs gained traction on TikTok and Spotify viral lists. Suno Studio, an AI-powered “generative audio workstation,” has become a creative lab rather than a replacement for human talent. Many artists and songwriters view it as a fresh tool to spark inspiration, experiment with ideas, and overcome creative blocks. Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. emphasized that AI’s role is to augment the creative process, providing new possibilities for musicians who enjoy exploring different sounds without losing the essence of human artistry.
Emerging voices like Equatorial Guinea’s DJ LQB are also stepping into this evolving landscape, blending traditional and AI-assisted techniques to craft innovative sounds that resonate locally and beyond.
