APO Group, a leading pan-African communications and press release distribution firm, announced that its founder, Nicolas Pompigne-Mognard, has been nominated for the 2025 African Genius Awards, one of the continent’s most prestigious honors. The African Genius Awards recognize individuals for their intellect, innovation, and impact across Africa. They are organized by Priority Performance Projects in collaboration with top academic, cultural, and research institutions.

The jury includes five prominent experts from South Africa, Nigeria, and Kenya. Dr. Pulane Molokwane is a nuclear physicist and environmental specialist. Professor Steven Friedman directs the Centre for the Study of Democracy. Simon Gathua is an academic and author. Professor Rosaire Ifedi teaches at Ashland University. Vuyiswa Mataka is a senior tech talent partner at Bank of New York Mellon.

This nomination places Pompigne-Mognard among an elite group of changemakers shaping Africa’s story. Past nominees include tech visionary Strive Masiyiwa, AI and data expert Dr. Mark Nasila, and Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, President of the African Development Bank. “This nomination validates APO Group’s mission: to tell Africa’s stories, amplify its voices, and connect the continent with the world,” said Pompigne-Mognard.

He highlighted that the recognition celebrates the power of communication and purpose-driven leadership. It also honors those who share African stories with integrity and excellence. During the pandemic, APO Group partnered with the World Health Organization to deliver critical health information across Africa. Millions received guidance that could save lives.

Named among the 100 Most Influential Africans in 2023 and 2024, Pompigne-Mognard serves on numerous international advisory boards. These include the Canada-Africa Chamber of Business, the African Energy Chamber, the World Football Summit, the Africa Hotel Investment Forum, the Bloomberg New Economy Gateway Africa, the Sports Africa Investment Summit, the EurAfrican Forum, and the All Africa Music Awards.

He also advises the Royal African Society (UK), the EU-Africa Chamber of Commerce, and the President of Rugby Africa. “The future belongs to those who believe in the power of their voice. Africa’s genius lies in its diversity, resilience, and ability to shape its own story,” he added. For nearly two decades, APO Group has championed African narratives and supported their spread across all 54 African countries.
