During the ordinary session, the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Cayo Motulu Ncogo, presented the bank’s performance, outlining key achievements in corporate governance, social responsibility, internal controls, financial performance, and future development priorities.

According to the financial results, BGFIBank Guinea Ecuatorial closed the 2025 financial year with total assets of CFA 420.172 billion, while customer deposits reached CFA 295.730 billion. The bank’s loan portfolio totaled CFA 176.618 billion, reflecting its continued commitment to financing businesses and supporting the country’s national economy.

The bank generated Net Banking Income of CFA 21.855 billion and recorded a net profit of CFA 3.077 billion, maintaining an average annual growth rate of 14 percent over the past five years. Management attributed the positive performance to sound governance, effective risk management, strong internal controls, and continued investment in human capital.

Beyond its financial achievements, the institution highlighted significant progress in implementing its 2021–2025 strategic plan, which focuses on supporting the structural transformation of Equatorial Guinea’s economy and promoting sustainable development across the Central African sub-region.

The bank said its strategy continues to prioritize financing for the private sector, job creation, regional economic integration, and investments that strengthen economic resilience while supporting climate-conscious development initiatives.

During the extraordinary session of the meeting, shareholders also reviewed the implications of COBAC Regulation R-2015/02, which establishes minimum capital requirements for credit institutions operating within the Central African Economic and Monetary Community (CEMAC). Discussions focused on the regulatory measures required to ensure full compliance within the prescribed implementation period.

Through the resolutions adopted during the General Shareholders’ Meeting, BGFIBank Guinea Ecuatorial reaffirmed its commitment to prudent financial management, continuous improvement of its risk profile, regulatory compliance, and the sustainable creation of value for shareholders, customers, employees, and other stakeholders.

This year also marks an important milestone for the institution as BGFIBank Guinea Ecuatorial celebrates 25 years of operations, having commenced business in 2001. Today, the bank operates through three core business divisions: Retail Banking, Corporate Banking, and Private & Institutional Banking.

The institution currently serves more than 17,000 customers through a nationwide network of nine branches located in Malabo, Bata, Añisok, Ebibeyin, and Mongomo, supported by more than 38 automated teller machines (ATMs) strategically distributed across Equatorial Guinea.
