Breaking News: Equatorial Guinea First Female Prime Minister Emerges

The President of the Republic, H.E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, has signed the decree appointing Manuela ROKA BOTEY, the first woman Prime Minister of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea.

The first woman to be appointed as Equatoguinean Prime Minister, she leaves the portfolio of Minister Delegate of Education, University Education and Sports, having previously been Vice Chancellor of the National University of Guinea.

Vice President of Equatorial Guinea, Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue offered his congratulations on twitter while praising his country’s willingness and promotion of gender equality.

Manuela Roka Botey, a native of Bariobe, Baney District, holds a degree in Missiology from the Urbaniana University of Rome, a degree in Educational Sciences with a specialization in Organisation and Management of Educational Centres from the UNED, a Certificate in University Teaching from the University of Alcalá de Henares, a Diploma in Advanced Studies and a Doctorate in Education in the area of Educational Planning and Innovation from the University of Alcalá de Henares.
