Equatorial Guinea records 130 new coronavirus confirmed cases.

Although the government in recent days has tightened its measures, the Health Minister is warning the coronavirus may be on the verge of ravaging the Country, causing a couple of thousand cases by the end of next month. “Without precautions around 30 to 40 thousand people could become infected at the end of May” He said

A worst-case scenario projection by the Health Minister says 30 to 40 thousand people in Equatorial Guinea could become infected by the end of May. This statement was made on the official TV channel (TVGE), on Wednesday, April 22,  right after announcing the country´s first coronavirus death, a 49-year-old man who has posthumously tested positive for COVID-19.

Earlier this month

Under the worst-case scenario with no interventions against the virus, Africa could see 3.3 million deaths and 1.2 billion infections, a report by the UN Economic Commission for Africa said.
