The objective is to generate urgent action on the creation of community networks in areas of importance for the economic and social development of women as well as the society.

“The Assembly aims to bring together professional women in different areas: economic, legal, social, culture, academic, entrepreneurship, health, technology, institutional, political etc. To visibilize the leadership and contribution of each of the women in their respective areas. As well to create, promote and sensitize among women the importance of collaboration, synergies, support and mentoring.

Taking as a reference the strategic objectives of The 1995 Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing,  The Beijing Declaration and the Platform for Action,

  • Women and poverty
  • Education and training of women
  • Women and health
  • Violence against women
  • Women and armed conflict
  • Women and the economy
  • Women in power and decision-making
  • Institutional mechanism for the advancement of women
  • Human rights of women
  • Women and the media
  • Women and the environment
  • The girl-child

From the Ideal Woman Organization, we call this assembly to all the Equatorial Guinean women and residents of Equatorial Guinea who have awakened their spirit of citizenship and want to take positive action to the development of our country and the world, creating networks of women that help to react on the action program of the Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing, paying special attention to the 12 critical areas on which the conference had identified a special concern.

Equatorial Guinea: first assembly on women to be held in Malabo

The objective of the Women’s Assembly to be held in the capital of Equatorial Guinea is to generate rrgent action on the creation of community networks in areas of importance for the economic and social development of women as well as the society; highlighting the power of women’s rights activism, feminist solidarity and youth leadership to achieve a transformative change.

This  event takes place a quarter of a century after the historic Fourth World Conference on Women and the adoption of The Beijing Declaration and the Platform for Action, the most comprehensive framework for achieve women’s empowerment and gender equality.

The Forum will review the progress made by the women in Equatorial Guinea and in the world, and will shape a program of concrete measures to promote Proposed Women networks. An annual agenda of meetings and/or events between women will be established in order to empower them, create synergies, solidarity and collaboration among them, make visible the importance of mentoring and support among women.

We all have a role to play, and it is for the common good. There is an increasing evidence that women’s empowerment empowers the humanity. Economies grow faster, healthier and families are better educated.

Today in Equatorial Guinea we can see that poverty has a face of Woman.

Equatorial Guinea: first assembly on women to be held in Malabo

“Ideal Woman was founded in 2014 and launched its first event in 2015 in the French Cultural Center of Malabo, since then, work is history that this organization has been carrying out, but we have come to realize one thing: the events and or activities that we carried out were staying only in merely talks, and today we want to change this model. We want to develop sustainable development programs for women, a common thread. We want to talk about mentoring, women supporting women. We are speaking of a question that is 360 degrees, it is about creating programs and networks for women, where no one is left behind. This global event will represent a key moment for equality of gender, focusing on four main concepts and moments: Power, Crisis and Hope, Action and Celebration”. — Lucas Escalada, Founder Ideal Women
