The Government of Equatorial Guinea has announced the construction of a modern conference center in the city of Djibloho, a project designed to host more than 6,000 people. Aimed at positioning the country as a key destination for high-level events in Central Africa, the project will be managed by the renowned South Korean company Mooyoung. According to official statements, this initiative seeks to consolidate national infrastructure as a pillar of sustainable development.
The country’s Vice President, Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue, emphasized the strategic importance of the project on his social media. “We continue to bet on a developed Equatorial Guinea in every sense. That’s why we prioritize the construction of foundational infrastructures”, he said on his X account.

The project, whose model was presented in a recent meeting between the Equatorial Guinean Government and the Mooyoung delegation at the People’s Palace, the presidential residence, is designed to combine modernity with cultural elements that reflect the country’s identity.
The preliminary design includes an amphitheater for presentations and shows, conference and meeting rooms, and an exhibition space for commercial and cultural fairs. Additionally, the center will feature parking for 1,900 vehicles, ensuring comfort and accessibility for attendees. This comprehensive approach underscores the Government’s commitment to creating multifunctional infrastructure that meets both international and local demands.
The project aims to do more than just build infrastructure. It represents a push to position Equatorial Guinea as a regional hub for organizing events, boosting cultural and economic exchange. The inclusion of cultural identity details in the architecture is one of the key recommendations from the Government for this development.
Once completed, the Djibloho Conference Center is expected to serve not only as an iconic space but also as a driver for economic and social growth. By attracting international events, the Government envisions a positive impact on sectors such as tourism, services, and culture, solidifying Equatorial Guinea’s role as a key player in the region.
