The application for the 2022 Mandela Washington Fellowship is currently open! In response to it, past fellows from Equatorial Guinea are holding sessions, providing tips and sharing the benefits of being a fellow.

ASK A FELLOW, as it is called is an agenda that connects interested applicants with previous fellows from Equatorial Guinea, to find out how they were able to make their application standout. Using Social Media channels, a few sessions have already been held. Furthermore, two sessions for orientation on HOW TO APPLY are to be held for applicants in the city of Malaboon August 27that the Malabo Youth Center, and September 3rd at the Equatorial Guinea Cultural Center. The frst YALI 2022 recruitment was conducted in Bata, hosted by the collective UN PASO MÁS.

In addition to the collaborative efforts of the fellows, 2016 Mandela Washington Fellow, Oscar A. NCHASO BEKARI, Foumder of Dreams Hub, a member of the Afrilabs community, has made available, the Hub’s co-working space to provide guidance and coaching to interested applicants.

Dreams Hub (Research, Innovation & Technology Center)

Applications are due by 16:00 GMT on Wednesday, September 15, 2021.

The Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders is the flagship program of the U.S. Government’s Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI). Since 2014, nearly 5,100 young leaders from every country in Sub-Saharan Africa have participated in the Fellowship. The Fellows, between the ages of 25 and 35, are accomplished leaders and have established records of promoting innovation and positive impact in their communities and countries. In 2022, the Fellowship will provide 700 outstanding young leaders from Sub-Saharan Africa with the opportunity to hone their skills at a U.S. college or university with support for professional development after they return home.
