Pamela Nze Eworo becomes the first female Minister of Information, replacing Virgilio Seriche Riloa. The highest that women had reached in this Ministry was the position of Vice-Minister, such is the case of Atalia Modesta Baha.

The new government that is being formed in Equatorial Guinea, and which yesterday saw the appointment of the Ministers of State, Ministers and Ministers Delegate, is leaving new faces in some ministerial departments, such is the case of the Ministry of Information, Press and Radio, where for the first time a woman has been appointed.

The new Minister of Information, Press and Radio joins the list of women who have been members of the government in this ministerial department, but none had reached the position that President Obiang Nguema Mbasogo has entrusted to Pamela Nze Eworo. One of the highest positions that women had reached in this ministry was that of Deputy Minister, such is the case of Atalia Modesta Baha Nkene.

She holds a degree in Journalism from the Complutense University of Madrid, Spain, with a major in Information Science. She has been presenter of the analysis programme A Fondo on Public Television, head of the Department of External Relations and Communication of the Constancia Mangue Nsue Okomo Foundation (F.C.M.N.O.), Director of La Gaceta de Guinea Ecuatorial, among other functions.

With her appointment as the first woman to head the Information, Press and Radio portfolio in Equatorial Guinea, she replaces Virgilio Seriche Riloa.
