Dreams Hub Research and Innovation Center hosted its first Fintech/Ecommerce dialogue last Saturday with players in the sector present.
Moderated by Arsenio Salómon, the panel consisted of Rafael Mayer, CEO, Bonafide Microfinance Bank, Angela Eseng Mba, Director of Consumer Banking, Ecobank, Cristian Egido, CEO, Bayamsellam and Cesar Bolobahá, CEO, Situcka.
In a discussion and audience engagement spanning a little over two hours, the panelists started by sharing their experiences in building their businesses in the space, integrating and sensitising the general public on their services.
Sponsored by Ecobank, Equatorial Guinea, the Fintech/Ecommerce dialogue was well received and welcomed by attendees who could be seen penning down notes and got really engaged with the panelists when the floor was opened for that segment. The event was also streamed live by Dreams Hub on Instagram live, providing an avenue for those who couldn’t be there in person to assess the information from the dialogue.

Taking into consideration that while gravitating towards fintech and ecommerce in a growing digital world we live in today, it’s also important to recognise that all environments aren’t the same and to effectively have a robust industry, Cesar Bolobaha of SITCUCKA said, “we must adapt businesses to the culture of the environment.”
Commenting on how best brands and organisations can get customers more involved, Angela Eseng spoke about sensitisation, marketing and communication campaigns.
“The ecosystem needs awareness to adapt to new technological tools” she said.
The dialogue was engaging and interesting as the conversation about the present and future of fintech and ecommerce, and also how Equatorial Guinean businesses and Entrepreneurs could utilise those tools to launch their services internationally.
The Ecobank sponsored event was the first hosted by Dreams Hub and with the positive reviews still coming in almost one week after, one can say, what a start!
