Following the resounding success of its first edition, Intel has announced the launch of the second phase of the Intel Community Reach Program (ICRP)—a transformative initiative aimed at advancing digital inclusion and unlocking the power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and broadband connectivity for underserved communities across the African continent.
With internet penetration in Africa standing at just 38%—far below the global average of 68%—Intel CRP 2025 seeks to identify and support impactful projects that can deliver access to education (especially in STEM), healthcare, agriculture, environmental services, fintech solutions, or digital skills training. The goal: to foster financial, social, and technological equity using AI—particularly at the edge with AI PCs—and/or broadband connectivity.
The call for proposals is open to organizations, startups, SMEs, enterprises, and institutions working to address social challenges through AI and broadband connectivity. The program places a strong emphasis on women tech entrepreneurs, underlining Intel’s commitment to inclusive digital empowerment.
Selected projects will benefit from technical support, capacity-building programs, consultancy services, and strategic guidance to help scale their solutions and expand their socio-economic impact.
“At Intel, we believe in the transformative power of Artificial Intelligence, which is improving every aspect of our lives across industries. This program reaffirms our commitment to leveraging AI for positive change in underserved African communities,” said Dr. Bienvenu Agbokponto Soglo, Director of Government Affairs Africa and Principal Engineer at Intel Corporation.
Anna Ekeledo, Executive Director of AfriLabs, added:
“Africa’s digital transformation is not just about connectivity—it’s about equipping people with the tools to innovate and create economic opportunities. Through the Intel Community Reach Program, we empower African entrepreneurs and innovators to harness the potential of AI and broadband to drive real change.”
Deadline for the first round of applications: June 13, 2025.
