Twitter and Elon Musk have had an extraordinarily difficult time of days and millions in losses due to bad decisions by the CEO who is no longer the richest man in the world. But it looks like it’s about to get worse, courtesy of Mark Zuckerberg, Meta and their new social network: Barcelona.

Last week we witnessed the start of a new collapse for Twitter after Elon Musk dynamited one of the platform’s most essential foundations in the quest to generate more revenue. The champion attempted to charge for the identity verification badges of celebrities, celebrities and strategic figures that are, as a matter of principle, one of the main bases of attraction and interaction for the rest of the users.

That move, in conjunction with the explosion of his Starship mega rocket with SpaceX and the plummeting shares of Tesla Motors ended up causing Musk to make a loss of almost USD $13 billion. Any other mortal would have been sentenced to life on the street with that combination of mistakes and that amount of money burned in the space of 24 hours. But Elon just stopped being the richest man on the planet.

Twitter, for its part, survived the crisis and is still there, but perhaps not for long, as it looks like a more attractive clone is on the way. Barcelona would be Meta and Mark Zuckerberg’s app created to replace Twitter and beat Elon Musk. Reuters news agency has published the leaked details of the latest project developed inside Meta, Mark Zuckerberg’s company that also includes Instagram, WhatsApp and Facebook.

The only thing missing from its conglomerate was Twitter, but now that the social network is not having the best of times thanks to Elon Musk’s administration, it seems that they are preparing to launch their own version of this platform.
