Pedro Oba Asu Mbengono has parted ways with 15 de Agosto, with whom he was crowned the top scorer of the Equatoguinean league, to join Benin’s Loto Popo, where he also hopes to play a leading role as the top scorer. He arrives in Cotonou with his golden boot, earned for being the top scorer of the previous season, which also earned him recognition as one of the best forwards in the competition. He also claimed prestigious titles, such as the golden boot and the 2024 Head of State Cup championship, while also finishing as runner-up in the National League.

Now, the Equatoguinean “number 9” is seeking new challenges and expanding his opportunities with Benin’s Loto Popo, aiming to further his career. He was already welcomed by the Beninese green team after successfully completing a week and two days of trials. He convinced the coaches, and his performance impressed the team management, leading to his inclusion in the squad, which is considered an important force in the Beninese football scene.

After having been trusted by the Equatoguinean coach Juan Michá, Oba had been waiting for some time to open a new chapter in his career and hopes to contribute to Loto Popo’s success in the upcoming season. The 15 de Agosto fans remember him fondly and hope he continues his goal-scoring role with his new team.
