The Guinea Equatorial U-20 Women’s National Team delivered a memorable performance on Friday, April 4th, defeating the Moroccan national team 0-2 in a friendly match that felt like a major event. Led by Sinforosa Eyang “La Mirey” and Genoveva Ayongman, the team set the pace from the start and secured the victory.

Striker Maricruz Ebula was the standout player of the match, scoring a lethal brace in the 25th and 80th minutes. With a sharp eye for goal and composure in the box, Ebula sealed a win that confirms the team’s promising form and their ambition to grow. The Nzalang U-20 played with discipline, intensity, and hunger, making it clear that Guinea Equatorial’s women’s football is once again chasing glory.

Behind this new generation is the technical leadership of Genoveva Ayongman, a living legend of national football. A former player and captain of the senior Nzalang team, Genoveva was behind some of the most memorable moments in the recent history of the team. Her experience and combative spirit now inspire from the bench, where she guides the young talents who proudly wear the same colors she once wore.

“This victory is the result of responsible management and teamwork,” said Donaciano Obama Edjang, General Coordinator of the Team. He also praised the current Executive Board of FEGUIFUT for its commitment to the development of grassroots and women’s football. “This generation is well-prepared and ready to bring great joy to the country.”

With performances like this, the Nzalang U-20 Women’s Team shows that the legacy continues, and Guinea Equatorial has the talent, history, and future to keep shining on fields across Africa and the world.
