Benin Strengthens Foreign Relations With Niger, U.S, Tanzania And The U.A.E

Niger, the United States, Tanzania and the United Arab Emirates now have new Ambassadors in Benin Republic as they went to present the figurative copies of their credentials, last Thursday, April 7, to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation (Maec), Aurelien Agbénonci.

Sidi Abdou, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Niger to Benin, is the first diplomat to present the figurative copies of his credentials, on Thursday, April 7, to Aurelien Agbénonci, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation (Maec).

Brian Wesley Shukan is no stranger to Benin. A Lawyer, he began his diplomatic career with training at the U.S. Department of State in 1995 before being appointed Director of General Services at the U.S. Embassy in Cotonou in 1996, a position he held until 1998.

Benson Alfred Bana is the new Ambassador of the United Republic of Tanzania to Benin holds a PhD in Public Human Resource Management from the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom, a Master’s degree in Political Science and Public Administration, and a Bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania.

The ballet of Ambassadors ended with Fahad Abaid Mohamed Altaffag, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Benin. Married with three children, he was a member of several international and national commissions and associations from 2015 to 2016.
