In the context of the growing collaboration between Africa and China in innovation and entrepreneurship, Oscar Nchaso, founder of Dreams Hub and ambassador of AfriLabs, has embarked on a strategic visit to China to strengthen alliances with incubators, innovation centers, and investors interested in key sectors such as renewable energy, agriculture, artificial intelligence, and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.
Human capital training, exchange programs, knowledge transfer, renewable energy, artificial intelligence, manufacturing, and startup investment are among the key strategic areas where close collaboration with the African innovation ecosystem is being considered. Nchaso’s journey to the land of Mao Zedong included visits to seven major cities, including Beijing, Shanghai, Dalian, and Xuzhou.

During his stay, Nchaso visited technology centers where he exchanged ideas with leaders in innovation and entrepreneurship. One of the most notable meetings took place in Beijing with YuQiao Wang, president of the China-Europe Talent Exchange Association. They explored incubation models and potential collaborations with Chinese tech startups seeking expansion into emerging markets such as Africa.
A key focus of discussions was e-commerce as a strategic development avenue and its integration with Young Ecommerce Africa, a platform within Dreams Hub’s Leadership and Entrepreneurship Center. As a result of these conversations, a specialized training offer was confirmed for African ecosystem actors, in collaboration with Alibaba, one of Wang’s key partners. This training will soon take place in Shenzhen and will include visits to Zhongguancun Science Park, known as “China’s Silicon Valley,” as well as meetings with tech giants like Huawei, TEMU, and TikTok. These interactions will provide African participants with the opportunity to establish strategic connections and explore avenues for collaboration for their respective countries.
Discussions with Chinese investors also highlighted a growing interest in integrating advanced technologies into Africa’s strategic sectors. The transition to renewable energy was a central theme in the meetings, with a focus on developing solar and wind energy solutions tailored to the African market’s needs. Chinese companies with expertise in energy infrastructure expressed their willingness to collaborate with AfriLabs and Dreams Hub on sustainable projects in Equatorial Guinea and other African countries.

Agriculture, a key sector for the continent’s food security, was another major topic on Nchaso’s agenda. During his visit, he explored innovations in precision agriculture, biotechnology, and efficient irrigation systems that could transform Africa’s agricultural productivity. With the support of advanced technology and co-investment, Africa has the potential to become an agro-food powerhouse.
Artificial intelligence and ERP systems were also critical topics in discussions with investors and tech firms. With the increasing digitalization of business and government processes in Africa, Chinese software developers see AfriLabs and Dreams Hub as strategic partners for adapting technology solutions to the continent’s realities.
Oscar Nchaso’s visit to China marks a new milestone in strengthening Dreams Hub as a bridge between the African innovation ecosystem and the Asian market. The discussions held with incubators, investors, and technology centers reinforce the vision of a self-sufficient Africa, with an economy driven by knowledge and cutting-edge technologies.
With the backing of new strategic alliances, Dreams Hub continues to drive entrepreneurship and innovation in Africa, facilitating connections with international markets and positioning the continent as a key player in the global economy of today and the future.
