Equatorial Guinea: Confucius Institute visits Dreams Hub, talks about Cultural and Chinese Exchange Program

Officials from the Confucius Institute of the National University of Equatorial Guinea visited the Dreams Hub research and innovation center.

Responsibles of IC-UNGE, Zhang Qiao Mei and Jiang Gui Xi, were received by the Founder and Managing Director, Oscar A. NCHASO BEKARI, accompanied by the Programs and Projects Manager, Ivan Dougan, Communications Manager, María Nchaso, and the Executive Secretary, Amor Nchaso.

This visit is part of the collaboration actions discussed, after the visit to Dreams Hub by the Chinese Ambassador to Equatorial Guinea, H.E. Qi Mei, last month, in which she expressed the predisposition of her embassy to support the Dreams Hub Research and Innovation center .

During the visit, those responsible for the IC-UNGE highlighted their role in Equatorial Guinea.

“The Confucius Institute has at its central axis the dissemination of the Mandarin language and Chinese culture; In addition, social action is a fundamental part of the Institute’s work. In this cultural exchange, we want to bring China and all its culture closer to the Equatorial Guinean community through the teaching of Mandarin and other accompanying cultural activities,” said Zhang Qiao Mei

Oscar Nchaso, on his part, explained the numerous initiatives carried out at Dreams Hub, and his willingness to embrace the development from the discussions, starting with this new project they preliminary named `Dreams Hub Kuai Le Zhong Wen´ (Dreams Hub Happy Chinese Program). Thus, offering the space for Chinese pedagogy for girls and boys from their Crystal Eggs program, and later for adults in the community.

The visit considered as the first step, both parties agreed to initiate a formal communication, to explore the possibilities of a long-standing collaboration, which Nchaso Bekari described as mutually beneficial.

“It is an opportunity for us all to leave enriched, since whoever teaches, learns twice. This is how our friends from China will also take a piece of Equatorial Guinea, through this type of exchange”.
